WAYS OF MEMORIZING A POEM

FIVE (5) EASIEST WAYS OF MEMORIZING A POEM

Poetry is one amongst the genre that troubles many students since they take it as a cumbersome thing when it comes to memorizing poems in particular(free verse poems).

Thus; most of students  are busy  praying so that a known poem would appear in the final examination rather than using their own memorized poems which are very easy to use. They like a short cut by avoiding a long way which is safe and hence get bad grades for the fear of memorizing three to four poems.

Here are the five easiest ways that any student can use to memorize a poem/poems;

1.Take any poem and memorize the first five(5)verses or two stanzas depending on their lengths, when you master them continue with other verses or stanzas or a poem if it is short like"Eat more" by Joe Corrie"

2.Self recitation; try to repeat what you memorized loudly, this way helps to send what has been memorized to long term memory hence stick forever that's why songs are easily memorized and sung.

3.Try to write down what you memorized on a piece of paper, twice or thrice when you get it  correct it is a sign that the verses or stanzas have been memorized, what remains is the daily practice (repetition)

4.Read a poem when you are about to sleep, psychological researches show that: what is learnt last, two hours before sleeping is easily remembered and mastered than what is learnt before.Try today,  it is simple.

5.Teach others what you memorized(poem), in so doing you'll find it easy to rehearse and master them since the mind will condition itself that "I'm the master of poems  and I'm going to teach my fellow student/students about them".

It is easy, try it;master them today.
